Experiential Learning
I design experiential learning tools for undergraduate, MBA, and executive education, as well as professional training programs worldwide. Instructors can access these materials at TeachwithKellogg.com. Some examples of materials I’ve written are listed below.
Role-Playing Exercises
CHARGE+ and Creative Motors
A dyadic, single-issue, distributive negotiation between representatives of CHARGE+ and Creative Motors. The exercise helps participants practice preparation, target-setting, opening offers, concessions, and claiming value.
K-Corp
A two-party integrative negotiation following a performance review, introducing personal scoring systems to reflect preferences. The exercise encourages participants to look beyond positions, compare priorities across issues, and create packages that better meet both parties’ interests.
Fillmore Lawns
A six-party, multi-issue negotiation involving government, corporations, and community stakeholders. The exercise gives participants practice managing coalitions, competing interests, and the challenges of building agreement in a complex stakeholder environment.
Case
The Fuyao Glass Cauldron: Creating the Third Leg of Success
A case examining cross-cultural management, organizational change, and leadership challenges. Drawn from real-life events described in the documentary American Factory.
Includes related Kellogg Insight podcast and article: Preventing a potential culture clash at work
AI-Mediated Simulation
MacLorie 3D
An AI-powered negotiation simulation in which students gather information from an internal principal and negotiate with an external customer. The exercise helps students practice information elicitation, package-based negotiation, principal-agent dynamics, and value creation beyond price.
